of Divorce Process
For Egyptian Citizens
1. The consulate cannot perform divorce process for Christians, however, can
authenticate the divorce documents issued by the local
authorities.
2. The Egyptian consulate will not process any divorce process without the
presence of the spouse, in case of the spouse resides in
Egypt, the husband may authorize someone to divorce
the spouse on his behalf, by giving him a Power of Attorney.
3. To process the divorce at the Consulate, it requires the followings:
•The presence of both parties with their passports.
•The original marriage certificate.
•4 passport pictures for each of them.
4. The consulate gives a copy of the divorce certificate
to the husband, a copy to the wife and sends a copy
to be registered in Egypt.
