ENGR 345
Term Project
(Due July 19, 2007)

Consider the three alternatives for long term summer vacation planning:

  1. Buying a summer house (cottage).

  2. Buying a timeshare plan

  3. Renting what you need at the time you need it.

You may replace any of the options above with a suitable one of your choice after I approve it.  Compare these alternatives using suitable criteria of your own design, and based on real cost estimates.  Things to consider may include (but are not limited to):

 General Guidelines:

  1. This project should be done in groups of 3 students

  2. The project will be graded out of 20 points.

  3. 15 points will be assigned to the report that will be graded based on: completeness, creativity, quality of technical information, English, and sound conclusions.  The report should be limited to a maximum of 5 pages including the cover page.  Any supporting materials should be relegated to an appendix.

  4. The other 5 points are assigned to an oral presentation to be delivered on the last day of classes.  Presentations are graded based on: presentation style, content, use of audio/visual aids, and handling questions.

  5. Please follow all other relevant teaching policies.
